The Challenge
The client's main challenge was finding a suitable location for a large television that would not disrupt the flow of the space while remaining parallel to the main sofa. The aim was to create a layout that allowed comfortable television viewing and entertaining, without making the television the focal point of the room.
The Solution
A flat mount television was positioned on a wall where it would not be immediately visible upon entering the room, helping to maintain a more refined and balanced aesthetic.
The armchairs and main sofa were arranged centrally within the space, close to the fireplace, creating a warm, intimate, and fluid environment by moving away from the traditional perimeter layout.Placing the sofa with its back towards the window may seem unconventional, but in practice it works exceptionally well. Rather than blocking natural light, the sofa helps to define and organise the space. By selecting a sofa with a low backrest, it can also function as a subtle room divider, helping to define the living area without compromising the sense of openness.
The result is a more cohesive, welcoming, and organised space that retains its spacious feel. This arrangement also creates a more intimate setting next to the window, complemented by an armchair and side table that provide the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or relax with a book.
