Frequently asked questions
-
How does the shopping list work?
You receive a curated list of the recommended furniture, lighting and finishing pieces with direct links where possible. You can buy everything, phase purchases over time, or use the list as a guide if you want to find similar alternatives.
-
Which shops do you source from?
I source from retailers and suppliers that suit your style, budget and timeline rather than from one fixed list. If you have preferred shops, pieces you already like or retailers you want to avoid, I can take that into account.
-
Can you work with furniture I already own?
Yes. Send photos, measurements or links for any pieces you want to keep, and I will plan the room around them where they support the layout and design direction.
-
What do I need to send before we start?
You will need to send room measurements, photos or a short video, any floorplans you have, pieces you want to keep, and a few notes on what you like or dislike. I will share a client brief questionnaire to help you gather the information and make sure we have everything we need to start.
-
Do I get a layout plan?
Yes. Full Room Design includes a scaled room layout so you can understand furniture placement, circulation and sizing before buying key pieces.
-
Are 3D visuals included?
The standard Full Room Design offer focuses on layout, design direction, sourcing and a final design pack. If you need 3D visuals or more detailed rendered views, we can discuss whether that should be added before the project starts.
-
How do revisions work?
One round of refinements is included so we can adjust the design after you have reviewed it. Larger changes, extra options or further rounds can be quoted separately before any additional work begins.
-
Is Full Room Design right for small spaces?
Yes. Small spaces often benefit from a complete plan because furniture size, storage, lighting and layout all need to work together. The design will be shaped around the room you actually have.
-
Does this include project management?
No. Full Room Design gives you a clear design plan to follow, but it does not include ordering, trade coordination, installation or site management. If you need extra support, we can discuss what would be useful before the project starts.
-
Can you visit my home in Edinburgh?
The service is online-first, but in-person Edinburgh support can be added where it would help with measuring, reviewing the room or talking through practical decisions on site.
-
How is this different from layout planning?
Layout planning focuses on what fits and where furniture should go. Full Room Design includes the layout plus design direction, colours, materials, furniture choices, sourcing and finishing details.
-
How long does a full room design take?
Timelines depend on the room and the brief, but most single-room projects can usually be planned over a few weeks once the measurements, photos and brief are complete.
